It’s nice to be able to read this article on the train home from work, where I’ve been, err working on it. It’s been frustrating being subject to NDA because this project is really nice and I want too shout about it, especially for this diary. I can’t mention any more details than whats in the article but I think that Chipperfield’s are possible the best refurbishment architects going. They have a great, if a slightly painstaking, approach.
On a personal level my work on this project from a facade engineering point of view has lead me to have a better understanding of the bodies that influence building projects with respect to heritage constraints and concerns.
Also, I’ve gained a good understanding of RIBA stage 2 reports as we are working towards that framework.
