My personal statement for Unit 5:
Having always been fascinated with the act of making things – I believe architecture should be informed by a tectonic intrigue. Since I can remember I have dismantled and reassembled everything from childhood pushbikes to 170mph racing cars.
I have exposure to a variety of design disciplines from automotive work experience at Jaguar Design department, through Arup facade engineering for the year preceding my undergraduate degree to a collaboration with nautical projects.
Outside of design I have a passion for motorsport. Racing karts from the age of 8 and progressing to sports cars at a British and European championship level, winning two national championships.
Now a member of unit 5 I am looking forward to learning more about the works of Terunobu Fujimori and the fundamental aspect of architecture – the act of building.
